On January 15th 2019, the security issue CVE-2018-20715 was entered into the database of NVD and naturally has been wide-spread through the security scene via Twitter and other social media. In this blog post I’ll try to explain why this announcement is close to utter bollocks.

Tutorial: How to assemble a local dev environment for OXID eShop 6 with a vagrant box using oxVM.
Today, I want to inform you about some personnel changes and re-structuring at the OXID core development department. Benjamin, Joachim, Alejandro and Tomas to come, Ina and Florian to leave.
The past month was affected by security announcements. Why there still can be found so many unpatched installations of any web applications?
Yesterday, new OXID eShop versions were published: 4.8.11, 5.1.11, 4.10.0 beta and 5.3.0 beta. Other releases, 4.9.8 and 5.2.8 had to be postponed until next week. Read in this blog post more about the details and how to interpret these releases.
As CLAhub is not reliable any longer, we moved to cla-assistant.io in the hope this service is more stable. Previously signed CLAs could fortunately be imported. Please let us know immediately if you find something suspicious.
Thanks to @Haehnchen, a native PhpStorm plugin for OXID eShop is available, very helpful for anybody developing with this e-commerce framework.
A couple of days ago, on 7th July, OXID was awarded with the PayPal Partner Award 2015. For this reason, our CEO Roland Fesenmayr went to Berlin for PayPal partner day, received the accolade and suddenly disappeared from one second to another. He popped up back home in Freiburg explaining that he simply used the time machine app, whew! However, I personally don’t believe in that stuff. Rather I think he was temporarily kidnapped by aliens to the Photoshop universe 🙂
